The Motherless

The Motherless was donated to Wheaton College by Mrs. Thomas O. Richardson in December 1922. It was created by Elihu Vedder c. 1864-65 in Turner, Maine. The painting depicts a young girl sitting on a log next to a feed dish filled with small chicks.
