Syston Bindery, Leicester, England

In May of 2004, the thirteen volumes, under the ownership of Sue and Tom Biro, were sent to Syston Bindery in Leicester, England to be repaired. When the books were purchased from Christie's Auction House they were in very poor condition. Syston Bindery cleaned and dusted the set of volumes, reproduced some of the title pages, and rebound them all in new leather. Unfortunately, neither the Glasgow Library nor the Syston Bindery preserved the original bookplates and materials of the volumes. These original materials could have told us more about the volumes' history.
