The Harlem River (Rivershacks)

Lawson was an American Impressionist painter who specialized in depicting the beauty of urban landscapes in New York City. He was a member of "The Eight", a progressive group of artists who were rejected by the National Academy. Here, he depicts a ramshackle building on the banks of the Harlem River with a bridge in the right distance.
