Opera Omnia

The Opera Omnia was purchased from Christie's Auction House from an auction for Collectible Books, London, UK in 2009. The thirteen volume set was created by Italian artist Ulisse Aldrovandi in the 17th Century, and is a natural history compendium. The original texts are primarily written in Latin, with certain Greek passages interspersed. Each volume focuse on particular subjects, such as birds, insects, metals, and monsters. The illustrations within the volumes were also based on original paintings by Aldrovandi.
